Frank Lloyd Wright's Graycliff: Standard Tours
Graycliff - the summer residence of Darwin and Isabelle Martin - can be found in nearby Derby, a short drive south of Buffalo. Situated on a 70 foot cliff overlooking Lake Erie, the two-story, 6,500 square foot house represents a transitional point from Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie Style to his later concrete designs that found their ultimate expression at the justly-famous Fallingwater. Elements from both periods are evident in the design of the house. Now undergoing extensive restoration, Graycliff is open to visitors. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and feel free to ask questions. In 2008, Graycliff is participating in the Field Trip Fund through the Buffalo Alliance for Education, which covers the cost of buses for schools.

Frank Lloyd Wright's Graycliff: Master Architectural Tour
Explore all areas of Graycliff, and get a "behind the scenes" view not available on standard tours. This 3 hour Master Tour focuses on architectural elements, with ample opportunity to answer questions and discuss Wright's architecture, particularly that of his mid-career natural or organic style. Learn about Wright's special design for Graycliff roofs, his solution to fire hazards, his unique approach to gutter and drainage systems, and other aspects of Wright's design unique to Graycliff. Discover how Graycliff's design compares and contrasts with those of other earlier and later Wright designs. This is a tour for the serious architecture, design and/or Wright buff!
