When twilight turns to nightfall, and the lights come up in the pergola, tours at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin Martin House Complex take on a whole new drama! The newly-reconstructed conservatory and pergola are breathtaking in evening light and the classic Greek sculpture, Nike of Samothrace, really shows off! SHORT FILM FESTIVAL :
Ben Porcari, of Buffalo, New York is a finalist in the I Love NY Short Film Competition.  His film, “ILoveNY” depicts many of the wonderful assets of New York State-- from the theater to sports to food that can be found right here in Buffalo.  The winning short film will be aired on NBC during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, on Independent Film Channel (IFC), jetBlue Airways in-flight entertainment system and on nypost.com.  Ben’s win would mean a statewide recognition of the Queen City and all that it has offer. FOR THE ART LOVER :
Albright-Knox Art Gallery Director Louis Grachos has announced that the Gallery will be open Thursday evenings until 10 p.m. beginning July 17, 2008. As part of the expanded hours, Grachos will lead a special half-hour tour each Thursday at 6:30 p.m.  On September 4 the Gallery’s Education Department will launch a series of 18 lectures exploring art from the 1850s to the present with an emphasis on the Gallery collection.
