Molly Ringwald to visit Shea’s in new production of “Sweet Charity”

Buffalo BillsThe smash hit musical SWEET CHARITY, nominated for three 2005 Tony Awards, is coming to Buffalo. From February 6th to February 11th Shea’s Performing Arts Center will host the fun-filled comedy starring 1980’s pop icon Molly Ringwald.

The show is based on a taxi dancer, Charity Valentine, who despite countless failures and disappointments, continues to have faith in mankind. Charity wishes that she will finally be whisked away by the man of her dreams and removed from the shady life she leads.

Molly Ringwald takes center-stage on this nation wide tour as the character Charity Hope Valentine, a hopeless romantic with an immense case of bad luck. Ringwald has starred in hit films such as The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, and Sixteen Candles;and also starred in Broadway’s Cabaret.

SWEET CHARITY offers fun, laughs, and good times to be had by all viewers. Along with a great cast, the show offers an exceptional score by Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields, featuring "Hey, Big Spender," "There's Gotta Be Something Better Than This" and "If My Friends Could See Me Now."
