Political cartoons prove the pen is mightier than the sword

Tom Toles cartoonPolitical junkies and cartoon fanatics will enjoy “Caustic Ink: The Political Cartoons of Tom Toles” appearing at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center through March 25, 2007. This exhibit features drawings, sketches and cartoons, all highlights of the career of the Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist during his tenure at The Buffalo News. Toles has the unique ability to inject humor and truth into complex contemporary issues through his ink pen. Toles is currently the editorial cartoonist for The Washington Post.   

The Burchfield-Penney Art Center is also showcasing its 40th Anniversary Exhibition which will run through May 13th, 2007.  The exhibit features selected works from the opening ceremony of the gallery in December 1966 as well as key Burchfield collection assets and archives acquired primarily through generous donations.
