The Funny Tale Of The Holy Grail
Monty Python’s Spamalot trots into Buffalo
Come to Shea’s Performing Arts Center to witness the hilarious re-telling of the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.
Described as “A new musical lovingly ripped off from the motion picture ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail,’” the Broadway smash-hit musical “Monty Python’s Spamalot” rolls into Buffalo from May 1st to 6th at Shea’s Performing Arts Center Center. The winner of three Tony Awards, including Best Musical, the performance does its best to tell the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and their quest for the Holy Grail. Along for the ride is a chorus line of dancing divas and knights, Frenchmen with intestinal problems, killer rabbits, and of course, the famous-legless knight. Since its 2005 debut, “Monty Python’s Spamalot” remains one of the hottest tickets on Broadway.
Shea’s Performing Arts Center has been considered a baroque masterpiece since its debut in 1926. During the theatre’s heyday, the venue hosted the top acts in entertainment, with last names such as; Hope, Skelton, Ellington, Goodman, Crosby and Burns & Allen. In the early 1980s a community effort was undertaken to restore the theatre to its original grandeur. In 1999 the venue completed a $16.5 million expansion and restoration project that allowed the theatre to accommodate the largest of today’s touring shows. It is an extraordinary venue for touring Broadway productions.
Tickets for “Monty Python’s Spamalot” can be purchased www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (716) 852-5000. Tickets are priced from $27.50 to $67.50.
