Buffalo’s historic Allentown district is the setting for one of the region’s most anticipated annual events: the Allentown Arts Festival.
The Allentown Arts Festival is one of the most anticipated weekends on Buffalo’s cultural calendar. The festival features more than 400 artists of all mediums, and attracts over 200,000 people annually – making it one of the largest arts festivals in the country.
The festival has been described as a symbol for the enduring character of this re-emerging region. It has earned an important place in Buffalo’s cultural and social life and a national reputation for excellence. This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the festival.
The intimate, tree-lined streets of the historic Allentown district are the setting for the festival. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, the streets and sidewalks are filled with artists selling works from all mediums and styles. Whether you are an art aficionado or just like to people watch, the Allentown Arts Festival will not disappoint.
