Where Life Imitates Art

Famous works of art come to life at Art Alive 2007

Antiquing in Buffalo NiagaraJoin the excitement as famous works of art come to life at the 11th annual “Art Alive 2007: A Walking – Talking Art Contest,” sponsored by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.  This event will take place on Saturday, June 2nd from noon to 2 p.m. on the Gallery lawn across from Delaware Park. Both the event and entrance to the Gallery are free that day.

“Art Alive” is one of the most fun events you’ll see in the art world. Participants creatively reproduce some of the world’s most famous artwork in a life-size tableau. The final interpretations are often amazing compilations of people, props, and even music. Tableaux from previous years have ranged from creative interpretations of Leonardo DaVinci’s “Last Supper” to Andy Warhol’s “100 Cans,” which is owned by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Throughout the afternoon, celebrity judges will award points to the artists based on degree of difficulty.

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery is an outstanding center of modern and contemporary art that belongs among the world’s top international surveys of 20th Century painting and sculpture. For more information, visit www.albrightknox.org
