Juneteenth Festival preserves and promotes African-American heritage.

Antiquing in Buffalo NiagaraBuffalo celebrates the contributions of African-American culture at the 32nd Annual Juneteenth Festival in Buffalo’s Martin Luther King Park.

Come and enjoy a fun-filled weekend for the entire family! The Juneteenth Festival held on June 16 & 17th, 2007  is the second largest event of its kind in the country. The 32nd Annual Juneteenth mission is to “actively preserve and promote the broad spectrum of African American heritage through educational and cultural activities that will benefit the community as a whole.”

The entire event kicks off at noon on Saturday, June 16th with a grand parade that ends at the Juneteenth Festival site in Martin Luther King Park. Festivities run from noon to 8 p.m. each day. Festivities include: Main Stage Entertainment, Worship Services, Vendor’s Market, Food Court, Health Pavilion, Family Portrait Booth, Drill Team Competition, Exhibition Basketball, Book Fair, Historical Exhibits, Children’s Activities and more! Entrance to the festival is free.

Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. In cities across the country, people of all races, nationalities and religions are joining hands to truthfully acknowledge a period in our history that shaped and continues to influence our society today.
