The Scottish Festival & Highland Games celebrate Scottish and Celtic heritage with a full-day of festivities.
The Amherst Museum’s 23rd annual Scottish Festival & Highland Games will be held on Saturday, August 18th, 2007 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The event is a full-day celebration of Scottish and Celtic heritage and is the only officially sanctioned Highland Games in the region. Pipers, Highland games, Celtic bands, clan societies, Scottish merchants, dance demonstrations, children’s games, authentic Scottish food, sheep herding and more are all featured attractions. There will also be cooking demonstrations, pony rides and a silent auction.
The Amherst Museum is an educational institution whose mission is to explore history and its influence on present-day life in the Niagara Frontier. They achieve their mission through historical research and interpretation, preservation and management of collections and historic buildings, and creative activities and events.
