Buffalo Seen from 360-degrees

Open-air bus service features exciting bus tours of Buffalo and surrounding areas.

Allenton Arts FestivalThe Campaign for Greater Buffalo History, Architecture & Culture has recently launched an open-air tour bus service, featuring exciting tours of the City of Buffalo and surrounding areas.

The tours of Buffalo feature an “Open-Air Autobus”-- painted in 1920’s-style green and cream colors. It is the only open-air bus operating in Buffalo.  Because of its open-top design, riders can enjoy 360-degree views all around the rolling platform, greatly aiding in the architectural and historical appreciation that is the focus of the Campaign’s tours.

The bus tours feature a variety of tours from architecture-focused to lighthouses, parks or historical landmarks throughout the city.

Some of the highlighted tours include the Friday Night Moonlight Cruise, running all summer-long.  Riders are given the chance to view Buffalo’s architecture, historic landmarks and natural wonders by night.

The “Picturesque Parks of Frederick Law Olmsted” is a Saturday bus-tour that travels throughout the Buffalo parkways and landscapes designed by the renowned Olmsted who is also responsible for New York City’s Central Park.

“Better Homes and Gardens of Buffalo” is a Sunday afternoon bus tour that takes riders on a tour of the exquisite architecture of Buffalo’s Golden Age from 1880-1900—the architecture that made Buffalo explode into the powerhouse seat among the nation’s cities.

Tours run daily and vary in length and time.  Tickets for the tours are $20 for the general public and $16 for Campaign for Buffalo members. Reservations are recommended, but walk-ups are welcome, space permitting.  Pick-ups are made at Buffalo’s downtown hotels. Info and reservations: 716-854-3749 or OpenAirBuffalo.org.
