Buffalo Spotlight

Experience Elmwood!

Come on down to funky town.

For a Buffalo neighborhood that’s funky-cool-historic all year long, it’s hard to believe that things get even better during the last weekend in August every year.  But that’s just what happens on August 26th and 27th during the Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts.

Buffalo – and Elmwood Avenue between W. Ferry and Lafayette Avenue in particular – is home to an extensive and diverse array of artistic gems this year on Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27th.  Whether you appreciate art more with your eyes or ears, you’ll have much to savor at this year’s festival.

More than 150 artists will line the Elmwood Village and display their works at the 2006 Festival. The Artist’s Market lines Elmwood for three blocks and Cultural Row spills over onto Breckenridge Street.

Buffalo’s rich diversity of musical offerings and celebrations of movement are scheduled all day Saturday and Sunday on the Lafayette and Center Stages and the Dance Tent at the Unitarian Universalist Church.

Kidsfest 2006 is just the place for kids of all ages to experience an array of hands-on projects – and it’s all free, although donations are gladly accepted.

The Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts is a cultural, not-for-profit organization.
