The Buffalo Museum of Science celebrates the rich culture of our neighbors south of the border
Running through November 4th, Viva Las Americas! at the Buffalo Museum of Science is a special exhibit celebrating the rich culture of our neighbors in Central America, South America and Mexico. These regions feature some of the most diverse natural environments and distinct, epic cultures in the world. Learn about the textiles, pottery, adornment, insect and animal specimens, and masks from these south of the border areas. This event begins at the end of Hispanic Heritage month with similar exhibits being held throughout the United States.
The climax of this special series is the fifth annual Museum’s Attic on October 6th. This event allows visitors to immerse themselves in the food, music, color and costume of the Mexican, Central and South American cultures. The night begins with cocktails and tapas, and continues on with a regional dinner, behind the scenes tours and Brazilian, samba, tango and marimba dance demonstrations, instruction and performances. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time. This event benefits the programs and services of the Buffalo Society of Natural Sciences.
