Craft Art Showcased
Exhibition at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center
Outstanding examples of craft art are on display at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center on the campus of Buffalo State College.
Craft Art Western New York 2006 is open now through the end of January at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center. With the support of the Sylvia L. Rosen Endowment, Western New York artists are currently exhibiting at the professional level. Rosen’s ceramic work is on permanent display within the Burchfield-Penney Center, which has led to a focus on works in clay, wood, fiber, metal and glass artwork at the Craft Art Exhibition.
Under the direction of Scott Propeack, the exhibition includes 57 works by 55 artists. Lloyd Herman, founding director of the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery, judged the 135 submissions.
The Burchfield-Penney Art Center is located in Rockwell Hall on the Buffalo State College Campus. Admission to the museum is $5 for adults, $4 seniors 65 and older, $3 children older than seven and students. Free admission is available to members, Buffalo State students, and to the general public on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until noon.
The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday 1:00 to 5:00 pm.
