On a spectacular and sparkling theater season.
Unique! Glittering! Gala! All this, and more, describes the Theatre District of Western New York’s 25th Annual Curtain Up! celebration set for Friday, September 29th, 2006.
Buffalo theater’s amazing diversity and dimension is celebrated annually at an event that leaves no doubt as to how strongly the city supports the performing arts.
On Friday, September 29th, Buffalo’s theaters raise the curtain in a style fitting the spectacular season to follow. The official opening of Buffalo’s live theater welcomes guests in everything from a gown and tux for a gala dinner on Shea’s stage to more casual attire at other performances at 14 participating theatres and associated events.
Act One!

Act Two!
Curtains rise at 8:30 p.m. at participating professional theatre companies. Check out offerings at www.sheas.org and click on the Curtain Up! logo or find individual theater listings at http://www.wrightnowinbuffalo.com.
Act Three!
Live bands, dancing, and strolling entertainment line Main Street for an after-the-show party starting at approximately 10:30 p.m to 1 a.m, including Club Marcella’s “Life’s a Drag”, and new this year, fireworks starting at approximately 10:50 p.m.
In addition to the theaters, guests enjoy the restaurants, establishments and retailers of Buffalo’s vibrant Theatre District.
