Christmas in the Country, once again, ranked the number two craft show in America is the only show in the United States to be named in the top five every year since 1998 by Sunshine Artist magazine.  The show offers the works of nearly 400 artisans from 26 states, Canada and Germany.

This year, Christmas in the Country will take place Thursday and Friday, November 2nd and 3rd from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day, Saturday, November 4th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, November 5th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hamburg Fairgrounds.

The diversity of artisans and high quality of craftsmanship draws tens of thousands of local residents to the show as well as thousands of out-of-towners, who make the annual trek to Western New York.

"I’ve been to craft shows across the United States and none of them are more entertaining and have the variety and quality that Christmas in the Country does," said Kim Hughes who drives from Massachusetts every year to visit the show. "It’s become a yearly tradition for me."

The show offers a cross-section of crafts and art, from the latest in Christmas items and intricate hand-carved wood to hand-made clothing, jewelry, original artwork and more.

New artisans at this year’s show include: Carrie Fertig of Edinboro, England, who makes Christmas ornaments from copper, pewter and silver, Diana Shockey of Ahwahnee, California who makes bubble wands, Woody Beyers of Portage, Michigan who builds miniature buildings from barnwood, Shzngzhu Bernardin of Torrington, Connecticut who makes items from indigo dyed fabric, and Carol Orgain of South Stradford, Vermont who makes unusual hand-knitted socks.

Returning will be one of last year's favorites, a fifth-generation cuckoo clock maker, who travels to Hamburg from his shop in the Black Forest of Germany for Christmas in the Country.
