Festive Fun for the Family

The Amherst Museum’s Family Holiday Party returns for a day of family fun 

Amherst Museum’s Family Holiday PartyThe Amherst Museum’s Family Holiday Party will be held on Saturday, December 8th from 12:30-4:30.  Featuring live musical entertainment, refreshments, holiday storytelling, festive decorations, Santa, a Children’s Gift Shop and traditional crafts of the season, the party has something for all ages.  All of this is included in the price of admission.  Kids will have the opportunity to learn to make some of the traditional children’s crafts and gifts of the 19th century.  A variety of musicians performing holiday favorites will play throughout the afternoon.  While the adults shop at the Country Store, children will have the opportunity to holiday shop at the Children’s Gift Shop, which offers small trinkets and handmade keepsakes.  Santa will also be on hand to take pictures with children.  There is a mitten tree, accepting donations of warm winter gear as well as children’s books.  For more information, visit www.amherstmuseum.org or call 716-689-1440.   

The Amherst Museum offers visitors the opportunity to experience 19th Century life on the Niagara Frontier. Tour historic homes, gardens, churches, one-room schoolhouses and visit a working blacksmith shop. Learn about history through exhibits on agriculture, costumes, antique radios and pioneer kitchen. Discover the Erie Canal in the museum’s unique interactive exhibit and climb aboard our replica canal packet boat. Special events are held year-round.
