Indian Blood
Buffalo is portrayed in its heyday during Christmas in the 1940s.
Indian Blood is set to take stage at Studio Arena Theatre from December 4th – 23rd. The heartwarming comedy takes you back to Christmas Day during a simpler time in the 1940’s with its exploration of family relationships and social status. Written by Buffalo’s own A.R. Gurney, this coming-of-age production focuses on Eddie, a hometown student and his use of his historical Indian bloodline as an excuse for his lewd drawing in class and the repercussions that occur as a result.
Artistic Director and CEO of Studio Arena Kathleen Gaffney describes the show as “While 1946 Buffalo may seem like a distant world, it is vividly brought to life in this production. The city is portrayed in its heyday, and almost takes on a character all its own.”
Studio Arena Theatre is one of the oldest resident theatres in the nation, now in its fourth decade. It builds all sets, props and costumes locally and attracts more than 100,000 patrons per season.
